Record Store Day 2022 – 23rd April – #RSD22
2022 sees the 15th Record Store Day (#RSD22) in the UK and the 7th at Spinning Discs Sheffield on Saturday 23rd April 2022.
We’ll once again be opening our doors at 8am and closing them at 5pm. Last year the first person stood in the queue around 2.13am (so the 2019 record of 3am was broken) – So bring a warm jacket and shoes!
On the day itself and the following weeks we’ll (as ever) sell all of our RSD stock on a first come first served basis (as we’re sure you already know) and we do have the right to not serve any one if we think they are going to ‘flip it’ (i.e. put it straight on to eBay et cetera) as this isn’t what RSD is about.
Our Record Store Day Queue Quiz (compiled by our very own Popmaster Dan) will be back to keep those brains ticking over with prizes including a £25 Record Token!
You can see lists of all the quality vinyl exclusives here – RSD Full List 16.02.22 Part 1 and RSD Full List 16.02.22 Part 2– Please be aware that we won’t be stocking every title as this just isn’t possible – so if there is something that takes your eye – please let us know by dropping in to the shop or by contacting us by whatever way you can – however, don’t forget – no reserves or holds – so please don’t ask.
On Record Store Day itself we’ll keep you all up to date with what’s in and what’s not via our Instagram (@Spinning_Discs_Sheffield) feed
A big thanks to all of you who came along to see us on the two Record Store Days in 2021 #RSD21 – We’re sure that we’ll see you on Record Store Day in 2022 – if not before!
And finally, don’t forget that it’s RSD everyday!
Happy New Year!
Well hello there, 2022!
Happy New Year to all of our fantastic vinyl lovers!
2021 was a mixed bag for all of us (to say the least!) but we couldn’t have made it through without all of our lovely customers, both online and in store. It’s a wonderful thing knowing that we can always rely on music to see us through the good times and the bad.
We’ve got our fingers crossed that this year we’ll manage to avoid lockdowns and keep the shop open all year around, as there are already some fantastic albums set to be released over the coming months, a lot of which you can pre-order on this very webshop! We’ll also be celebrating 15 years of Record Store Day on 23rd April, which is guaranteed to offer up some real collectable gems, as well as a lot of in-store fun. If variants are kept at bay, we’ll also do our best to schedule in some live performances in the shop throughout the year…you can’t beat live music, especially when it’s intimate!
In the meantime, here’s a little selection of some of the 2022 new releases we’re looking forward to here at Spinning Discs Sheffield:
- Yard Act – The Overload – 21st January 2022
- Black Country, New Road – Ants From Up There – 4th February 2022
- Big Thief – Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You – February 11th 2022
- Khruangbin & Leon Bridges – Texas Moon – 18th February 2022
- Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard – Backhand Deals – 25th February 2022
- Charli XCX – Crash – 18th March 2022
- Jack White – Fear of The Dawn – 8th April 2022
- Let’s Eat Grandma – Two Ribbons – 8th April 2022
- Wet Leg – Wet Leg – 8th April 2022
If a string of singles, upcoming live performances and rumours are anything to go by, we may even be treated to new albums from big names such as Lizzo, Paolo Nutini, Jamie T, SZA, Arctic Monkeys and Rihanna. Watch this space…
So once again from all of the team at Spinning Discs Sheffield, a huge thank you for supporting us in 2021, and here’s to an exciting new year for music and vinyl!
Spinning Discs Sheffield
P.S. – to keep our staff safe and our shop open, we’ll still be requiring masks to be worn in store, and for all customers to use the sanitiser available at the door before browsing! Thank you for your cooperation.

We will be staying open for all of our customers, subject to any further government announcements.
We will be taking reasonable precautions to clean surfaces wherever practical – bearing in mind we are a record shop.
We ask all of our customers to take precautions and measures that are being advised by the Government.
We may have to operate restricted hours/close temporarily if self-isolating however we’ll try our best to keep our usual shop hours.
If you don’t want to come in to see us at the moment and fancy a record or two then you can always get in touch with us through email, social media channels or phone.
We can post out records to your home and in some cases; if you’re reasonably local we can deliver. Please bear with us in this unprecedented time.
We’ll try our very best to support you wherever we can.
Please try and continue to support us and all of the other local independent businesses however and wherever you can.
Love,
Spinning Discs Sheffield
