ABOUT SPINNING DISCS
Spinning Discs Sheffield is an independent record shop established to give music lovers in Sheffield a place to meet, relax and browse new
and select second hand
vinyl in a friendly community environment. We are not a global. We value our Customers, their views and comments.
We cater across the very wide board of musical tastes from Indie to Classical and Hip Hop to Metal.
If we don’t happen to cater for a Customer’s taste then we always welcome a discussion to see what we can do.
We want you to enjoy the experience of spending time browsing through physical records and perhaps chancing upon something you fancy or even just liking the cover art and thinking “why not”. We believe that the age of the physical format is here to stay. So let’s get physical.
If you love music and love vinyl then Spinning Discs Sheffield is definitely worth a visit.
At our Record Emporium in the rear of Spinning Discs Sheffield we’ve got over 3,000 select second hand records for you to browse at your leisure.
From sound effects to sound tracks to ambient to classic rock to classical. You’ll find an eclectic mix to browse and dig. Come along, grab a coffee and spend some time finding something you never expected to find.
Do you have records that you no longer listen to?
We buy used records and can offer you cash or credit for them.
We are interested loads of different genres including Indie, Punk, Post Punk, Rock, Soundtracks, New Wave, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, Metal, Death Metal, Dance, Trance, Hardcore, Goth, Jazz, Industrial, Library, Folk, Indie and more.

Record Store Day 2019 – Saturday 13th April
2019 saw the 12th Record Store Day in the UK and the 4th at Spinning Discs Sheffield on Saturday 13th April.
We opened our doors at 9am and close them at 6pm. This year the first person stood in the queue around 3am!
On the day itself and the following week we sell all of our RSD stock on a first come first served basis (as we’re sure you already know) and we do have the right to not serve any one if we think they are going to ‘flip it’ (i.e. put it straight on to eBay et cetera) as this isn’t what RSD is about.
In 2019 we teamed up with our wonderful neighbours at Create Coffee to have a full day of enjoyment through vinyl lovers being able to spin some of those RSD19 tunes on some decks, drink great coffee and eat some fantastic cakes.
Our RSD Queue Quiz seemed to keep those brains ticking over with prizes including a £25 Record Token and a selection of drinks from our friends at The Hop Hideout.
Friels (RSD19 Partners) dropped off a record that we popped in our racks – and the finder of it got themselves a case of cider!
PLUS our mystery bits included two tickets to see Mumford and Sons at the DSA Arena and a couple of tickets to a screening of the new Teddy Pendergrass documentary at the Showroom Cinema!
A big thanks to all of you who came along to RSD19 – See you on Record Store Day 2020 – if not before! It’s RSD everyday!
